Moon Sighting - رؤية الهلال
Our community makes effort throughout the year to maintain the Sunnah of sighting the crescent moon (hilal) in order to establish the beginnings of Islamic months. An archive history of moon sighting results is maintained here.

First day of Ramadhan 1440 AH is Monday, May 6th, 2019.
First day of Muharram 1440 is Tuesday, September 11, 2018.
Presentations to the community were made in May 2017 to explain some of the issues surrounding moon sighting with respect to Ramadhan and the two Eids. Below are the slides, handouts, and recording of one of the sessions.
